Cruce Andino

Puerto Montt / Bariloche 1 day or 2 days.

This story begins back in 1913, when a group of tourists led by Ricardo Roth, crosses the Andes through a border passage linking Peulla (on the Chilean side) with Bariloche (on the Argentine side). As a convenient alternative to join these two neighboring countries, by crossing ‘the southern cone’ Cruce Andino is born and becomes an ecology adventure you can not miss.

  Single day

7:45 hs. Passengers pick-up at the arranged locations in Puerto Montt.

8:30 hs. Passengers pick-up at the arranged locations in Puerto Varas.

Continuing to Petrohué, skirting Lago Llanquihue in a journey dominated by incredible views of Volcán Osorno and Volcán Calbuco. Then we enter the Vicente Perez Rosales national park where we visit the Saltos del Petrohué waterfalls, capricious shapes of volcanic rocks, bathed by emerald streams of falling water.

10:30 hs. We navigate towards Peulla, sailing Lago de Todos los Santos, and if weather permits, make new visits to Volcán Osorno and Volcán Puntiagudo, then Cerro Tronador to admire it.

12:15 hs. We arrive at Peulla, the ecological village and paradise of the nature lovers, where we can have lunch (not included).

14:00 hs. We take a bus to Puerto Frías, with a stop at the Chilean border to go through the Customs office. After crossing the Andes (at just 3.202 ft. above sea level.) we trail a sneaky road towards Puerto Frías and cross the lake heading to Puerto Alegre. Once there, a bus takes us to Puerto Blest.

19:00 hs. We leave Puerto Blest on our last sail across Lago Nahuel Huapi to reach Puerto Pañuelo, there we take a final trip on bus towards the so called “City of Argentine Tourism”, San Carlos de Bariloche, a city that during winter and summer fascinates tourists with its ski centers, commercial streets, hotels, restaurants and night life.

21:00 hs. The service ends when we arrive to Bariloche and are free to enjoy the city and continue our travel.
